Hi,
I'm Ben Firn.
And welcome to my spot. . .
A Little About Me
I'm Boston born and bred, but currently live in Philly with my wife, daughter, and gaurd dog. I'm also a New Zealand citizen, and try to spend as much time there as I can.

As the son of two doctors, health was a big part of my upbringing. Being outside is where I'm happiest...especially on the golf course.

I've been entrepreneurial since I was a kid (trading baseball cards, mowing lawns, and other cliches). Right now, I'm focused on real estate software.
B2B Software
After studying math and economics at Wesleyan, I took a job in a consulting group at EY. My projects were mostly in real-estate finance; things like pricing mortgage-backed securities, predicting loan defaults and pre-payments, and building lending models.
It didn't take long before I craved a smaller and more tech-forward environment. So I joined my first software start-up in 2017 and haven't looked back since.
Over the last 8 years I've become increasingly interested in solving problems within property management and home services. Below are the most recent companies I'm involved in.
(2018 - Present)
VP of Growth & Operations at Breezeway, software that helps vacation rental managers automate property cleaning and service.
(2017 - 2018)
Growth Marketing for TicketManager, software that helps companies allocate, analyze, and report on sports and concert tickets.
Golf
Golf is my favorite game to play. I find so many parts of it compelling -- the perpetual push to get better, the individuality of each course, and the people from all walks of life.

I've had some cool moments since picking up the game: walking on my college team, serving as Jack Nicklaus's security at the '16 Ryder Cup, drinking champagne in the clubhouse at the '22 U.S. Open, and appearing in a FootJoy ad (see below).

I'm judicious about tracking my handicap and the courses I've played.
Travel
My knack for travel began when I spent 366 consecutive days abroad in 2002. Seeing so many different cultures was formative, and helped shape many of my perspectives.
For me, travel is about the duality of adventure and introspection. Experiencing things for the first time, and becoming comfortable in uncomfortable situations. I dust off my passport whenever I can, though it's never often enough.
